An open message to self, 30 days before 2023 ends

Making lemonades out of lemons given to you by the so-called life is not as easy as what Elbert Hubbard said back in 1915. Sometimes, you don’t have the time to process all those lemons thrown at you. Sometimes, you cannot help but let them rot and let Earth do its natural decomposition process.

Zero food waste advocates may get mad at you for allowing food wastage. However, you can argue that it still follows a circular economy by rotten lemons serving as fertilizer to the soil. You may add that its good-quality seeds may even grow into new lemon plants.

Life may have become tougher for you. Disappointments may come after disappointments. Looking at the silver lining is no longer advice but a pain to your pair of eyes, which is already suffering from astigmatism.

Just like the head-breaking twinkle reflected in your eyes, you can always choose to go to a safe place to close your eyes and rest. Let all the flashing lights hurting your eyes be gone. And when you are ready, open your eyes. It’s okay if it is still blurry.

Rest and heal.
